The navel of the world
After a stopover in Auckland and a couple of days in Tahiti we hit Easter Island and saw every Maoi ever carved. Fascinating stuphph!! You wonder at the industriousness of the people who built everything on the island.
Also went to visit a site that is a cleared circle with a few rocks around it and a large round rock in the middle. This is called "the Navel of the World"
Apart from Easter Island being the Navel of the World it is also the centre for the mother of all cat fights. First night there the local Tomcats staged a pitched battle on the roof of our cabin. The noise was horrendous!! They fought all night and the noise could be heard from afar. Absolutely rent the firmament.
Meanwhile the object of their desires sat demurely inside preening herself.
At present in Santiago and about to go on a winery tour.
Cheers, artme.
