Smithy
G'day mate's Thanks for the welcome. Have not had much time to do any wood turning as we moved to a farm & as usual the house was to small it is 185% larger & I have only the windows to do [ 35 ] In 1/4 cut silky oak. [ Your wish is my comand ].
I have a Vicmarc Lathes VL 850. I have no complaint's [ as I dont know any better ]
I have been turning for 5 months in 5 years. I would like to start making Pen's etc. I think I would be better with a smaller Lathes. Has any one got any suggestions. [ now that is a silly Question ]
Not firmular with the format. It is said a man can only do one thing at once. Why can't a woman do anything else when she has a Headacke.

G'day Smithy and welcome to the show. Good to have you here.
That lathe will be fine for turning anything from small to whatever size the swing over the bed is. Don't forget - you can turn small things on a big lathe but not big things on a small lathe.
Quarter Silky!! Nice!!
