Hi,

Have been undertaking an ensuite reno for a little while now and almost at the stage where we will be reinsulating and resheeting walls (several windows replaced and a door moved so all new sheeting needed). Just had a couple of questions regarding the best plan of attack for the resheeting.

We're planning to use the wet area gyprock sheets, but have learnt from previous experience that you can't really sand the gyprock wet area jointing compound (blue in colour). For the walls that will eventualy be tiled, is it okay to use normal base coat on the sheeting joints, followed by waterproofing? Just can't see how will achieve a flat, smooth surface on the joins using the wet area compound. Would this be a problem given tile adhesive will ultimately sit between the sheeting and tiles?

Any advice or suggestions appreciated.

Cheers,
Kate
