The odd ones out are actually Holden and Volkswagon - the only brands to have the Circles, compared to the rest, that are all actually Ovals...

You've got it Batpig. It was just something I noticed as I was driving around, how many cars have oval badges.

In all honesty, I owe at least one of my lollies to a snippet I read in "Wheels" magazine many years ago - around the time that Toyota was just setting up "Lexus". As a consequence of what they (being Toyota) had learned about the whole "Brand and Image" thing with cars in the runup to starting Lexus, they not only gave Lexus a round badge to mimic the various established Euro brand's, but they also changed the mainstream Toyota emblem itself from being just a "T" style thing, to becoming an enclosed oval symbol. Playing with our minds - I reckon.... (It's a bit like falling in love with a beautiful Japanese woman, only to find out later that she's had that "eyelid" operation that they all get, so that her appearance unfairly "ticks" enough of the little Anglo-Saxon checkboxes in the "romantic" quadrant of your subconscious mind...)
