Howdy everybody, there seems to be heaps of knowledgable folk on this forum, so I thought I'd throw in a question that I have concerns about. Ive made some furniture from Aussie hardwoods and wanted to have a natural finish look. Ive been researching my options and finishing the timber in a hard oil-wax seems like a good way to go. Some say that a french polish coat before the wax will seal the timber better and help resist body oils from hands and arms resting on the chair arms. Do you think this is nessasary or extra coats of wax will be fine? Does the oil-wax feel alittle sticky or oily even when its burnished off thoroughly? Ive never used hard oil-wax before and am abit unsure of the end result. I hear "VOLVOX" oil-wax is a great product? Any suggestions? Thanx, Terry.
