Painting Weatherboard House
Hi everyone,
I will be painting a weatherboard house and would like opinions and ideas on the type of filler or bog to use. The house has been previously painted in acrylic water based paint and notice that rust is appearing on probably 100 areas where a nail has started to rust. I will treat all areas but am wondering what to put so as not to introduce rust from nails into the equasion.
A suggestion from a local was to use the two pack type of filler. I intend to repunch all nails and recover them with a suitable product. I really need to sort out the preparation problem. The intention is to finish in acrylic.
Thanks in advance
Kind regards
Mike

I too have a weatherboard house and the rust on nail holes occurs because of using a waterbased putty.
I use ordinary oilbased putty to fill any nail holes and make sure the putty is completely dry before painting.
