Supporting stone kitchen benchtop
Hi,
Help please... how to support the weight of the Caesarstone benchtop?
I have installed a sheet of 18mm mdf on top of the cabinets, which seems fine thus far. But what to do with the island? Which is 1800mm long, made up of 2x 600mm cabinet then the dishwasher, which is on the right hand side of the island.
Options (my guesses):
1. Run the mdf 600mm overhanging?
2. Opt 1 plus build a frame from structural pine?
3. Opt 1 plus another mdf installed vertically at the end of overhung mdf?
4. Opt 1 plus waterfall - I was told by a stonemason the waterfall is enough to support the benchtop (but total cost will exceed our budget)
5. ???
Thank you
