I want to replace some bathroom windows with new aluminium windows of a different size.

I have an external weatherboard wall where I am removing all the internal AC sheeting and also the weatherboards, so I will be starting with a nice open stud wall.

The current thickness of the wall is (say) 90mm and I need to increase that to about 140mm to fit services, an in-wall cistern, etc. (I'll pack-out the studs before fitting the plasterboard)

My question is: will a manufacturer generally supply an aluminium window with fitted reveals, and can I sepecify the width of those reveals to account for my increased wall thickness? Are there any problems with doing this? I guess you end up with the window in the same position on the external side of the wall, but with a deeper reveal on the internal side.

Also, the window is in a wet area that will get splashed by the shower, what steps do I need to take to make sure this water does not damage the inside of the window frame?
