Best router bit for Hettich Sliding door system
Hi,
I have a Hettich Slideline55 slidiing door track to install.
I have been trying to work out which router bit (size and profile) would be the best to use for routing out the groove for the track. Attached is a pic of the actual track, and an installation guide from Hettich. I've tried to contact Hettich RE a recommendation for the most suitable router bit to use, to no avail.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jonty

Jonty,
you need a slot that's 7.5mm wide and 5.5mm deep. Ideally you'd use a 7.5mm wide bit set for that depth but in reality they're probably not readily available and you wouldn't want to buy one just for the one job anyway. Use a smaller bit (eg 6mm or 6.4mm) and make a second pass. Or if you had a saw with a dado set and you could get down that narrow you could use it.
