    Default War Type Movies

Are there any good WAR TYPE movies out there.

    i've seen a few:
    • Saving Private Ryan - didnt really like it, kinda dragged on
    • Three kings - loved it
    • The GReat Escape - half way thru it now and lovin it
    • Starship Troopers - love it
    • Black Hawk Down - pretty good
So what other movies are out there that are any good. I dont mind the old war type movies and i want to see a few more.

Although, i dont really like Hogans Heroes but i dont mind MASH.

    cheers

    The Beast of War

One of the few movies that I've gone out of my way to hunt down a copy of...

If you liked The Great Escape, and oldies, then you'd like Stalag 17.
Bridge over the River Kwai (A bit of woodwork in that too)
    Patton
The Battle of the River Plate
And probably lots more that don't come to mind straight away.

In which we serve - a really great war film, made during WWII about WWII, and designed to raise British morale during the worst days of the war

A man who knows his movies. Especially the first 2. And don't forget Platoon.

My problem is, some of them are a bit too real and give my memories the whim-whams.
    Cheers,
