A sad day
Friday was a sad day in the Smith household. I had to sell my motorbike to finance an operation I badly need. Did not get anywhere near what it was worth but all for the greater good as they say.

Maybe now you will live to a ripe old age,instead of obliterating yourself round a telegraph pole or such!
Had numerous deaths on the South Coast with bikes especially down McQuarie Pass,its used for a racetrack,fastest one up there wins.Life is too precious.:mad:

What sorta operation comes before the bike that you couldnt sell the missus an kids to pay for? I mean... well... man thats a bummer
But then as they say you have left the world of the "Temporary Australians" so what sorta car you gettin? DO NOT say a Commode-adore!! :mad: Gawd made Ford to make the F100 for us woodnuts and woodboobs then cause he had the trots after such hard work on such a tuff truck he made the Commode-adore!
P.s... hope the op was/is successfullBelieve me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

Coastie, if that is supposed to be a message of commisseration, I am missing something. Quite apart from the fact that he had to sell his pride and joy to finance an operation, your are implying he is an irresponsible hoon
!
I have never owned or ridden a motorbike, but to imply that every motorbike rider is an irresponsible hoon is a bit much!

Pete, hope the agony will be worth it, I can relate to having to part with something you hold dear.
Hope the operation goes well and the future will hold another Triumph.

We have a car already Dingo it be a Subaru Outback 2005 6 cyl jobbie and a goodun too. Also have a little Holden Astra for darting around town.
Coastie I used to have a Honda CBR 1000 and was an absolute IDIOT on it. Touched 300 kph (under controlled conditions of course) a few times and was suitably pale when I stepped off the bike:eek: . Getting to old now and lucky to break the speed limit.
The operation is a Neurotomy and I am very relaxed with the proceedure. Basically I need it if I want to go back to work in any way close to my full potential. Rather be healthy than have a bike I can't ride anyway.

Sorry to hear mate, at least you have admitted it to yourself, my old man still has his in the garage. He never finished restoring it and hasnt even driven a car in 3 or 4 years. Last time he rode a bike was at least 5 tp 10 years ago, but it still sits there.
Before you say anything, no I wont be finishing it, I have way to many brains to get on a bike. (I know I would kill myself, and decided many years ago that 4 wheels was safer for me)
Good luck with the op and keep us informedI may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

Thanks guys for the support and kind words. I did not mention the same affliction has kept me from any real shed time for about twelve months.
