    Post building a deck..

    Hi all...

I'm designing an outside deck. I am limited to smaller size timbers as I don't have much ground clearance (max 200mm).

My current plan is as follows

    Stumps 90x90mm
    Bearers - 90x75mm treated pine. Span = 1450mm and Spacing = 1550mm
    Joists - 90x45mm treated pine. Span = 1550mm (Bearer spacing) and Spacing = 450mm
    Decking - 75 x 19 mm Merbau

I need to know if this is ok as I don't want any 'bounce' in the deck.

    Thanks...

Would this be structurally sound?.. I don't want any movement. What would stop the joists lifting off of the pavers?.

What would you suggest the bearer span be @ 1500?

This may be the easy answer but if I was you I'd buy "Decks & Pergolas Construction Manual" by Allan Staines, well worth its $25.
