Glass sliding door can't remove
Hi there,
I'm wanting to remove a glass sliding door but can't get the damn thing out the tracks.
I have done this several times before on other doors, so I understand about lowering the roller height etc.
This door has to be lifted off to the inside of the house due to fixed panels either side.
In this photo, I have lifted so it hits the top frame, and am trying to angle it out into the house.
You can see the door is off the main roller track, but is hitting an inner spline which is higher again.
Any advice welcome, thanks.

Could be the frame has sagged and has closed the track up, put a straight edge across the bottom and top channels to see if they have a bow in the centre.
Last one I encountered this on I had to cut some of the edge off the channel so the door would lift over it, there was also a previous thread on here with the same issue and solution to cut the edge down.
Here it is: https://www.renovateforums.com.au/sh...d.php?t=258289Last edited by droog; 12th March 2025 at 04:33 PM. Reason: Found it

Oh that's a good link, thanks. Look like he was having the same issue.
I might pull the timber trim off the top of the door and see if there is enough gap to force the whole frame up with a jack.
There might be packers in there between the lintel and the sliding door, so probably should check that.
I can't cut the track as it's the same height as the tiles so wouldn't achieve anything.
Perhaps my only hope is to jack it up, hope that works.
Thanks.

Does the bottom screw shown adjust the roller height, perhaps? Does loosening it on both ends of the door allow for more lifting space at the top?

I think it adjusts the roller height, only the block in the middle moves, not the extrusion part which is the problem.
That extrusion runs the length of the door, it's inside the door frame on the bottom.
Stupid design I think, looks like they may have installed the sliding door part first, then added the side panel later.
This makes it impossible to lift it inwards, or outwards.
I'll try jacking the whole frame up, just need about 5mm more clearance - so annoying.
