While not being over the moon with the result I’m not devastated either.

I was certainly barracking for the Eagles but when the Eagles were 10 points up I couldn’t help thinking it would be a tragedy if the Swans didn’t win. As it turns out it wasn’t. The Swans haven’t won a flag for 72 years. It was about time. Being originally from Perth, I’ve always had a soft spot for both Brisbane and Sydney.

Us wankers will stop talking about the football when the cricket starts and won't start again until March.

I didn't think we were supposed to swear in posts anymore. Ya pack of mongrels.

    I only support 2 teams.

Essendon and anyone that plays the Eagles or Dockers.

    Good on em.

If you don't like talking about the game, why comment on a thread about it?

Bloody ripper of a final, best game all year. The umpires (white maggots) let the game go for the first time all season.

I thought Judd probobly deserved the Norm Smith, but Kenelley must have been snapping at his heals. Great run out of defence.

I've just watched a bit of the game again. Didn't want to but my wife missed it yesterday and she wanted to see the repeat. I couldn't ignore it!

Having swallowed the bitter fact of defeat, and with a bit more than a day to put it in perspective, I have to agree with the opinion that it was a truly magnificent struggle. It was the classic boxer against the fighter contest. Muhammad Ali v Joe Frazier. But this time Frazier won. The Swans' fighting spirit was enough to get them narrowly in front of a hugely talented team.

Paul Roos deserves great credit for the way he has structured his tactics. The Swans work around the boundary throw-ins in the last quarter was quite superb. Well disciplined and highly effective against a team that rucks well to a superb set of midfielders.

Next year! Seriously, the Eagles have a very talented side now and they'll get better. Some of their youngsters did well yesterday and they will only improve. John Worsfold has that old Killer King Snake look in his eye again.

    So near! So near!
