Clearflow Turbovisor

I have tried googling but nothing comes up.
I am looking at buying one secondhand and want some info before committing to buy.

The first thing that would be really worth finding out about is the filter specifications.
It looks like a non-standard filter so you cannot use 3rd party (and possibly higher efficiency filters).

Availability of spares is worth finding out about.

Another thing worth knowing is the flow rate of the fan especially one the filter gets clogged, If it s less than a deep breath then a deep breath is going to suck in dust from around the edges of the mask.

Thanks for that, exactly along the things I am trying to find out. I too looked at the non-standard shape of the main filter.
But I am trying to find out more. I don't know how old it is so don't know if any of the plastics or rubber is deteriorated.
I cannot find a distributor here or overseas, so I am not confident of buying it.

Hi Lyle,
This hood looks to be the same as I have mine was marketed by Record a long while ago when these devices were first coming on to the market here had a very good seal and was reasonably comfortable to wear the filters were a course disk on the intake at the motor and then through a bag type that was very fine can't exactly remember but I think about 1 micron. Record couldn't even tell me where they sourced these from recently when I inquired about getting parts for them. As Bob said they are specific filters well the main bag is the course disk could be easily sourced but it is not what does the job for you're lungs just stops big stuff getting to start with. I had no luck getting parts for these hope there is something out there others know of as I would happily use mine again if I could get some.

Thanks Rod. I expected that the visor would be old and that spares would be an issue.
Your words have convinced me to not buy it.
I'll keep looking for a respirator/visor.
