????? Wow ???
On Sunday I invited a fellow woodworker over so we could talk about tools and muck around with wood in my shed. The woodworker is from this BB and up until that time I had never met him before. We were total strangers.
We had a great day in the shed and this morning he sent me a PM.
He had checked out my profile on the BB and discovered an amazing coincidence - we were born on the same date including the same year!
What's the probability?
Wongo may be able give me some odds here.

Nah, just purchase some LN tools together. they'd be a much better investment.
glad to hear you had a good day.

2 odd individuals born in the same day is pretty rare.

How does this sound?
The person I invited over was a woodworker so that puts their age say between 10 years old to 80 years old.
For people aged 10 – 80 there are 70 X 365 = 21,900 different birth dates.
The chances of me meeting someone with a particular birth date is 1 in 21,900.
That seems to be a number divisable by 2 without any remainders which means it is an even number. Not odd at all as Wongo suggested.- Wood Borer

Rob,
You're turning into a regular woodworking hussy... You always seem to have "a date" with someone or other from this BBS. the only other person who I know does it more is Wongo.
pair of trollops the both of yers.
I would imagine that the odds of meeting someone with your same birthday is 1 in 365.... same year; I suppose simply makes you the same age as your boyfriend!!!! are you going to "out" him or not ????? eh ???Zed

Rob,
actually from what I understand chimps are quite fond of the old in out or rubbadubdub. nothing wrong with that!
I was watching some show once upon a time and they were talking about some river in deepest darkest africa (or course) and it was wide enough for a chimp to NOT want to swim over (true story). therefore (no $h!T) 2 different types of chimps have evolved on either side of the river. One one side is the standard chimp that we all know and detest, ruled by the males and all fight and meat eating cannibals (remember this is TRUE!) and the other side (again - no $h!T) was another type of chimp and these are the "big-ar$ed" chimp, ruled by the ladies and fond of random/spontanious acts of run over and "in out, in out, off I go, that was fun" ... little violence and no cannibalsism.
I poo you not - true story.... prove me wrong and I'll buy you a beer next time your up here.
Id rather have a big @r$e meself.... sounds like more fun...Zed

Got me thinking,
Check out the BB's calendar
August alone,
3rd....hjain + Dustmaker both 35
10th..Broady + Trevor1 both 57
..Ubeaut/Neil + L.Bubblesniffer both 56 (Probably another of Neil's aliases?)
12th..Jemoge + Silky oak both 60
13th..jijisau + tmca both 42
18th..69 Stingray + Artisan Bill both 31
31st..Sawdust + Steve Downunder both 45
I realise that some of these examples may infact be the same person using multiple memberships. And some of these names are probably inactive.
I'll let someone else check out the remaining 11 months! The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.
