Had the electric planer out yesterday and also took to a couple of slabs I was told was American redwood, I have enver heard of it but I love the colour, how the outside where the bark is you get white and inside its red. The pieces I have are short so I'm not sure what to do with t hem, first its the plane/sand, they are approx 40mm thick maybe end up 40mm when flat.
How would you join if you put end to end, run the grain the same way? I'm thinking bar top or something.
