Bad week
The title says it all:
This heat wave hasn't been too flash. 48c on the back veranda yesterday, 2 days earlier put the thermometer in the open to check that temperature and promptly blew the bum out of it.
Among this; have a cardiologists checkup and get the news; go directly to hospital, do not pass go and we will collect the $200.
My prepaid bandsaw blades didn't turn up.
My first LN plane is somewhere in limbo with TNT (was supposed to be 1st class overnight freight) and now they have to hold it until I get home.
My Lee Valley order was promptly acknowledged (automatically), but even with extra emails from me I can not get a postage rate or even a reply from them. Most unlike LV, but it has slightly pizzed me off.
Well; the shed and gates are locked, the bag is packed; well she's having a shower anyway.
Have filled in enough time so it must be time to be away.
Just hope my luck improves tomorrow. It's a bit worrying when you know that numerous cardiac arteries have deteriorated drastically over the last two years. If is doesn't; at least dead men don't whinge.
Ooroo, Ken

Cheer up Ken, you'll be a new man tomorrow
Been there done that, well remember being driven to the Epworth in Melbourne and looking out the car window wondering whether I would have that view on the return trip! I did and haven't looked back, so chin up and be positive

Keep your head up Ken, the hot weather will soon pass and then with your new tools you won't have an excuse not to venture out to your shed.
Been a bit warm here too but I understand it has cooled off a tad in Gippsland near the fires which have quietened down a fraction. This afternoon I'm heading down there for a couple of days so hopefully the worst is over.- Wood Borer

Ken
Been there and done that 10 years ago and came out the other side probably in better shape than before.
Be sure to do a cardiac rehab course if you have the opportunity and you will soon be back making sawdust and shavings.
Best WishesTom

Ken,
On the heart bit, look on the bright side, they've got all sorts of bits they can plug in. these days. I got heart failure, then blood poisoning, Stuck in a hospital bed for six months. The heart needed a fairly heavy rebuild, new aortic valve, a band around the systolic valve, a puncture in the heart and the old pace maker pulled out and a new one shoved in. That was three years ago. Just come out of the Austen on Tuesday because something was a bit wonky. Had a real good chat with the cardioloigst there who has written several papers on fitness and cardiac health. His findings was that providing you set yourself a daily exercise routine and build up muscle there's nothing you can't do.
You are right, no good whinging mateupsets your friends and makes your enemies feel good..
Best of luck to you and I know you'll be back in the workshop soon

Ed, we had a Millers in Sydney, was bought out in the early 1980s, if I am remembering correctly. It was a great drop and our local pub at the time had the temperature just right, and the shape of the glass, and how it was washed. These make all the difference, I hope you can agree?
