Checking in
Hi All,
Checking in from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Been turning pens about 2 years now, figure I'll get it right eventually.
I enjoy the turning, but lately I've been concentrating on woods with a history. I have now made pens from a major league baseball bat, a Jack Daniels whiskey barrel, the Atlantic City boardwalk, a tree that inspired a Robert Frost poem, and 3 shipwrecks including the Andrea Doria.
The hunt for the wood is as addicting as the penmaking.
Hope to make some new friends here and probably learn a bunch while I'm at it.Never be afraid to try something new.
Remember, an amateur built the Ark,
professionals built the Titanic.

Hi Woodwrite, welcome aboard. I'm a woodturner, but not a penturner, maybe I try one sometimes after seeing a lot of pens.
Have fun.

G'day, WoodWrite. Welcome to the mob.
Interesting twist on the addiction, with historical references.
New friends and learning is a sure thing; maybe teach us a little too.
