Oil Finishing for a beginner
I am planning a coffee table out of recycled hardwood. (From my roof - after an extention) It has a deep red colour and i was thinking of using an oil (i think teh term is burishing) were you rub teh oil in with a hi grit sanding disc.
My question is how do you get the oil in on the fidly edges - i planned to have some routered edges so not flat

I usually reserve that sort of finish for large flat surfaces that a ROS can be used on or very small objects that dont take too long to sand such as something turned or a small box.
For a coffee table I would prefer a Danish Oil (oil/varnish mix), shellac or wipe on poly with light sanding between coats.
cheers
