Default How hard can it be.....?

Just having one of those moments when I started something 4 days ago that I figured was only going to take a day and it's about half way done now.

    Is it just me?

    Nup, not just you.

When I start any job around the house or in the shed, my wife asks how long I think it will take. She then doubles my answer and is happy if done in twice that time.

I started to answer your post, but I'm half way through and it's already taken me 4 days, so it could be a while before I'm finished!

I'm sure we're all with you on this one, but I think my Dad holds a record for offering to give me the rocking horse he started when I was a baby so I can finish it for my kids! That's somewhere around 40 years and still only half finished.
    Cheers, Richard

I seem to have more of a problem with:

Cause #1 Self looks at potential job and says, I can do that how hard can it be?
Cause #2 Self works out hiring somebody to do 15min job will start at $100 probably end up as $200
Cause #3 Self starts small job A then realizes if you do A you really should do jobs B, C & D to finish it properly.
Cause #4 Self has to explain to Fuzzette why you are doing jobs B, C & D when you are supposed to be doing job A.

Artme, I have a No 4, Daughter asks SWMBO, who then decides that I should drop everything to comply.

Daughter's can be fobbed off, but they always go straight to the boss!

Over long experience when it come to house reno's I estimate the time and then triple it. And there'll still be the pissy little last few bits waiting well beyond that

Taking the longer view (white-beard wisdom arrives at old-sod practicality), those last few bits will disappear into the next reno
