    Default More CAD woes

Thanks to Sir Stinkalot, I finally succeed in converting AutoSketch output to pdf format. You don't save the file as pdf - you print it to pdf  So I have this beautiful pdf file that looks perfect, when I open it in Acrobat Reader. So I burn it to CD and drive 40 km to the nearest plan printer in Maroochydore. When it is printed out, I find about 150 mm has been truncated from the right hand side of the drawing, despite the fact that it all shows up on the screen. So, whose fault is this? Is it mine, or the plan printer's? If I am doing something wrong, what is it? I am using AutoSketch 7 and Acrobat 5.

I think it is the plan printers problem. If it in the PDF and you can view it the printer should print it.

    Grunt,

I found pdf995 handled linework and pictures fine, but it didn't work too well with text - some words printed on top of one another. But Sir Stinkalot told me that all I had to do was to print the files to Acrobat Writer, which I did, with apparently perfect results, until I came to get the files printed.

The plan printer swears black and blue that he has never had any trouble before printing A0 plans from pdf files, and that it is just mine that get truncated. I could e-mail the pdf files to anyone who has access to a plotter, to test whether it really is the plan printer's fault.

If it looks ok on screen then it should also plot like that. What did it look like on the PC at the printers? There may be a problem with the margin setup but the printer should have been able to sort that out. Prehaps next time email it first and then pick up if it worked

I can only plot A1 but if you would like to email me the pdf file I will scale it down and give it a shot, you have my email from yesterday. If you also email the dwg file I will try and convert it into pdf in case that was the problem.

    Stinky.

Default All is well that ends well

Thanks to all who have offered help. Amazingly, the problem was with the plan printer, not my pdf files; another printer in Maroochydore managed to print my files with no problems. So I am a very happy camper
