You have been a busy boy Derek.
Top stuff as always. Sorry I haven't responded earlier. I have not been well.
The shed has been neglected. Hopefully get out there and doing work in the near future
Regards

Sorry to hear that, but glad you are on the mend. First job will be to check everything out in the shed before you restart making again.
Next job is to make an elbow from the head to the mixer I could buy one but where is the fun in that. I have started that by making a straight connector then I will mill a 90 deg notch and bend before silver soldering into the elbow

Because I have been busy with other jobs I only manage to turn the elbow blank in preparation for it to be machined, bent and silver soldered (I did bend the first one but had problems so started again) I will heat this up before bending as I am only milling a V in the middle (on the line marked in the last photo) and leaving a small amount left this will help keep it in line and also make it easier to solder.

Set in the mill ready for tomorrow to have the notch cut. Hopefully get some more photos tomorrow as I progress.

I am pleased how the elbow came out. This being the first silver solder job.
The set-up for notching the turned piece from the last post

And the finished part all cleaned up and ready to be fitted to the engine.

What with other jobs, not a lot of workshop time. But I have been able to apply some paint to the main body as well as get one of the flywheels set up for machining, more on that later when there is progress.
Anyway, the paint job it may not be everyone’s taste in colour.
It has got a top clear coat which is petrol resistant.

A little bit side tracked today as my stepson works in a scrapyard and found this Mamod engine which needs some TLC. It needs a new chimney and certainly a good clean up, there are a couple of repairs that need doing but nothing major. The above faults are only those that are obvious, but it needs a good inspection which may or may not find other jobs that need doing.
It does surprise me what people will just throw away.

I have spent today just giving a clean ready for the inspection but that will be all as I want to get some more done on the Farm Boy engine. I am waiting for some tools to do some jobs on that but being a public holiday here and a long weekend they may be a couple of days before the post office gets here
