Well I know he has done his time, he is supposed to be a changed man and all that.
But being married with a young daughter I definitely don’t want to be anywhere near him. Although I may think differently if I was still single but I don’t know.
What is your view?

Sounds like he must be a kiddie fiddler.
If that is so I can well understand why parents wouldn't want him anywhere near their kids.

As a general observation though, when someone is released from prison they are considered by the law to have served out their penalty and so they technically have the right to live wherever they want.
He should do the honourable thing but the problem is he doesn't think what he did was wrong. I have no sympathy for him and hope he spends the rest of his life in misery and gets a good beating at least once a week.
In Vic 'mr baldy' is being released for a second time, the first time he re-offended within 3 weeks. :mad:
This time they have given him a satelite monitored anklet and wrist band and he is under house arrest. :eek:

If I found him living in my court or looking at my kids in a shopping centre I would go temp insane, and thats exactly what I would tell the judge at my trial. :mad:

I just heard on the radio that he has been driven out of a town in QLD. Didn't get the details, just caught the headline.
Perhaps he should be tested with the people who claim they reform these people. In other words, let him babysit the judge's kids or the psychologist's kids whilst he lives in their house.
If he is so safe, there should be no problems.
I don't think these types are being reformed or are capable of being reformed. There are plenty of examples to support this argument.
Perhaps we need to consider what to do with the "reformed" if we don't want them in our neighbourhoods.
Can the head shrinks help us identify others with similar problems and suggest a way of avoiding future molestings? They seem to spend their energy pleading to the courts to let these people off lightly.
Zed's suggestion would certainly stop the individual causing further grief but would it stop potential child molesters?
I think if the humanitarians and civil libertarians get their way on this one, pretty soon you'll see gag orders on the media that stop them from showing the faces and disclosing the whereabouts of these "people".
The thing is. you could have one of them living next door now and not know it. This guy has a pretty high profile and his face is well known but there are hundreds of convicted and released rock spiders around and you wouldn't know them if you saw them in the street. Only the most notorious make it into the spotlight. Some sort of rock spider detector would be good.
The best defence is vigilance backed up by a baseball bat.

This sort of issue always raises emotions. My beleif is that seldom does a child molestor reform yet penal authorities, shrinks, and governments alike seem always to want to show that the system and processes in place for reform can and do work for all criminals.
Personally i think that criminal acts like this should be always be given a life sentence without parole. Child molestation unlike murder is always pre meditated and i would think a sickness that cant be cured so I would like never to see people like that on the street. Childrens lives are too precious to put at risk.

I read something about the original trial yesterday. The judge who put him away said he thought there was little hope for rehabilitation. That being so, why did they let the freak back out on the street?

It split the group in two. The ones who were his closest friends wanted us to remember him as he was to us - a party animal, always relaible for a bit of a laugh, etc. They renamed the annual golf game they used to play in his honour. Others were disgusted, they couldn't believe that somebody they knew, who had been to their house etc could do this. They thought about the 12 yo girl, who was badly affected. They thought about the girlfriend who had been such a stabling influence on his party behaviour.
Because it all happened while I was away, it all seemed other-worldly to me and I don't think I ever resolved the issue. I'm not sure I really eber connected the bloke I knew to the person who did this.

Don't get me wrong zed, I wasn't looking for any sympathy for him - I tend to agree with you. The thought amonst the group at the time was that it was sad that this had happened to a friend of ours but it was probably for the best.
I have two kids under 7 years and waht scars me is that enis Ferguson refused pysch help in jail. Why was he let out is he refused help???????????
I have read that these types firmly believe that having sex with children is perfectly OK. They consider the rest of us as being a bit dumb when it comes to our opinions.
When they are caught, they consider pretending to be sorry and pretending to be reformed to be a little white lie and keep up this pretence so they can quickly get back to their craft.
The behaviour of many of them seems to confirm this idea.
If that is the case then we don't need them - they cannot be reformed - they will re-offend - they will continue to destroy the lives of more kids.
These kids often become predators on kids when they mature and the whole cycle continues.
Rub them out. Don't gaol them, don't bother wasting time unsuccessfully trying to reform them. Slit their throats, not their scrotums.
