Anyone had the Knappstein enterprise reserve lager (south oz)? Real lovely citrusy :Daroma. Amazing lager IMHO, Not a pils style but still hoppy and quite malty.:p
And I also enjoyed Sinha Stout (sri lanka). Chocolate :wink:coffee :Dnotes and a good body and 8%. Best not to cool this one, like all strong Ale's.

Just finishing off a La Trappe Dubbel.
Weathers cooling down here so time to dust off the barley wines and dark ales and light up the fire. And some people dont like winter! Go figure........

Well I had a couple of Trumer Pils tonight. Not very exotic but a v. nice Pilsener IMO.
Had some "James Squire Original Amber Ale", got to be one of the best beers I've tasted. With winter around the corner out come the dark and hearty beer, good for the health let alone the spirit.

Polished off a six pack of some German beer last week. Furtzgarden or something orather. Very nice stuff. 'Beer from the Black Forest' it said on the side. Smooth as honey going down the hatch. :2tsup:
Edit: Furstenburg it was called. Found one of the caps in the ashtray out back.
Yes I recently had a tusker , The beer was so so but the pool bar in vanuatu that served it more than made up for the taste :D

Time almost to go and get one of my avatars. Only problem is they are the 2006 model. The first one I got, in 2004 I think, was a 2001 and it had really started to develop the complexity and port character that its famous for. Perfect with a strong cheese. :2tsup:

Had an Erdinger Dunkel and another german brand (dark wheat beer). They started of boring until the beer warmed up a bit then they were quite good.

Look you bunch of barstewards, I am om my second course of mega antibiotics and just got the script for the third. I have a bar fridge full of delicious beer and all you rotter's talking about more delicious beer.

Personally, James Squire Porter in the winter is good.
As much as I hate mega swill from CUB I think that the VB Original isn't too bad for a mass produced swill.
When the kegs (home brew, not kits) are running low I don't mind the Bavaria from Coles, Dutch beer, German name, made for an Australian supermarket.
Not going on about what I like but what I don't like is the euro beers made under licence by CUB etc, they taste just like another local.
An imported Stella Artois is quite pleasant but the CUB version tastes (or lacks taste) like a slightly modified Carlton Cold.
