About Vertigo............

Hi every one,i hope some one can help with some information or treatment about vertigo as i have had it for the past 4 months and it won't let up,i have had a cat scan and all they found was a peanut :D so now next week to the ear nose and throat doc for more tests.I have a continual tingling feeling in my hands and legs more like a small electric shock not to mention walking a crooked mile all the time as well.I did wonder if the continual breathing in of saw dist and laquers may have some part to play with this from the past and has finally caight up with me for being so compalcent about masking up even for small jobs........let me know if you have had anything like this,it would be interesting to know if i am the only one in the timber industry this had happened to............

Try asking them to test for Menieres Disease.

Mate, that doesn't sound too flash.

Try and make the medico's run all possible tests.

Hang in there.

If you haven't had one, get a referral to a neurologist quick-smart.

Hope it turns out to be something relatively minor.

Yeah, that'd be right wouldn't it. All part of our advance into an enlightened medical system.

May I suggest that you cancel your high wire, motorcycle routine until you get this sorted out?

In the meantime, drink whisky. It won't help but at least you'll be able to understand the reason for the room doing that funny figure of eight movement when you sit down :D

You can get some type of vertigo or dizzyness from a formation of crystals in the inner ear. My wife had a similar problem and when the crystals or crystal
moved the problem went away. No info on the rest of your problem.

A friend of my dads had somthing similar, he kept loosing his balance and falling over. It ended up being and inner ear problem, he had to have part of his inner ear removed and became almost completly deaf. It was either that or continue falling down. Certainly hope this isn't the case for you.

I had something similar and got no joy from the GP so went to a specialist physician. He ran a bunch of blood tests and the only thing that came up was an iron deficiency (probably an after effect from open heart surgery). Took iron tablets for a few months and haven't been dizzy since.

gday mate get to a brain docter as soon as you can, my mum put up with the same thing for at least ten years,she couldent ride her bike very often ( when your nearly 70 and own a nice ducati you should live on it) at times it was so bad she had to stay in bed. she saw a brain docter 3 weeks ago and it is nearly back to normal seeing the docter was a bit of a trip as she lives in katherine, northen territory.

as for the avalibility of medical specalists the territory is a hot version of tassie i moved to nsw because i got sick of travelling 8000ks round trip every month to see knee and shoulder doctors( i wish car drivers would look where they are going)

I used to get a similar thing years ago, turned out to be an inner ear thing.
All the world used to turn all topsy turvy, this way, that way.

Man it gave me the craps, use to make me dry reach.
Havent had it for years, but last year took the ferry to Tas and it reappeared.
I spent the first day in Tass as if Id been on the turps.
On the way back I took a Stemitel (sp) and all was fine.

Thanks every one for your input,it is a real buggah having to wake up every morning with the world in a spin.Oz i will try stemetal and see how it goes but i am getting some relief from sudafed at the moment but it sure dries me out.........lol
