subtract b^2. a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2
factorize........(a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b)
cancel a-b................a+b=b

since a = b............b + b = b
................................2b = b
cancel b......................2 = 1.

therefore all you 50% people can give me $2 and I'll give you $1 back, cos its the same thing, I just proved it to you.

By the way - why are you trying to factorise zero for anyway? (ab-b^2=0) because a=b and a^2 = ab then ab also = b^2

Or did i miss the joke?
