depends upon what the trout has been feeding on and where it's from, supermarket trout are from farms and are fed pellets, as a consequence they have the taste, colour and texture of a soggy pizza box, not like the deep red firm flesh of the yabby eaters.
Miss the old days at Sale. Good feeds of Brim at Hollands Landing, and lots of bones to spit out from the Gars.
And the Aussie Salmon from near the wreck at Golden Beach.
Tassie is fly fishing, polaroiding paradise.
Many many trips into the Western lakes around Julian and Pillans lakes will attest to that.
My mate in Tas has a shack on Little Pine and we have one on Great Lake ...Heaven.

the last trout I cought was a beautiful fat 6lb brownie from the Pet Dam up behind Burnie in 1985. I had to crack the ice in order to sink the grub. ;)
