Do know of a School Woodwork teacher who wasn't looking what he was doing, and sliced a thumb on the Bandsaw in front of his students,- while giving the kids a lecture on, " Safety procedures in the workshop !!! ":o

I had a diabetic uncle who lost the feeling in his fingers, and didn't notice he'd nailed his thumb to the fence he was erecting until he tried to walk away.

As for the bloke cutting his thumb off with a radial arm saw :no: hardly an uncommon thing...that would have to be the single most likely of radial arm injuries followed by being smacked in the chops by the overfeeding carrage.
There used to be a link to a multipage list of US table saw accidents on here somewhere....just one after the other...some of them you would swear only happened in cartoons

Prolly the only upside of liquidating all my tools...I can't slice and dice any of my protuberances anymore. Mind you my fishing forays haven't been exactly drama free :-
