Yep definitely refrigerate it and keeping it from strong light will also stop the bleached (white) stuff from darkening in the bottle.
All our raw stuff is kept in cold storage until ready to put down to liquid. This dramatically extends the shelf life, which in really hot weather can be little as a few weeks. Cold storage can extent this shelf life to many years and gives us a raw product as good as when it was first made. We have all our shellac shipped from India in Refrigerated containers. It is never out of refrigeration for more than a couple of days before it is put down to liquid.
