Sorry to hear you've "come a gutsa!". Hope the wrist heals well. I always managed to come out of my stacks far better than my bikes - strange that you've had little damage to the bumble-bee

:C Glad it was only a flesh wound.:C Lost a cousin to a bike accident so I doubt I'd ever think the fun was worth it. Look after yourself. :)
Last time we were at DJ's you mentioned you often ride past our place.
I have been half expecting you to drop in over Christmas - now I know why! :C
Get well soon.
When we all wished you a very happy Christmas break
you have taken it the wrong way Ern.:D
Get well soon.
Allan
All the best Ern and a quick recovery. Those things buck you off without warning.

Bloody hell Ern , You've had a hell of a run these past few months , seems like the snow is the only one that ain't bit ya on the bum , eh.
Heal well mate , rest up , and catch up on your reading .
Well, Ern... what can I add to what's already been said? Hope you pain is gone, and that you heal rapidly!!
I've owned three bikes, and my Pop told me that when I got to the point that I thought I could ride one, that it'd ride me. He was right. Last wreck was in 1963, and I haven't been on one since.
Better luck to you. :)
Been there too (broken ribs), long time ago. To quote one of the young comedians, "Screw get well soon. Get well NOW". Seriously Ern and DJ, hope you are healing apace and the quality of your new year is improving rapidly.
Now yo have had all the soft mushy stuff on to more important things.
The state of the bike??????? How'd it come off??
Sorry to hear of the accident Ern. I hope that your recovery is swift and you are back to normal soon. I hope that you and your bike are soon re-united.
Cheers

well hell, wasn't enough that DJ is stuffed up in hospital ...now Ern is feeling left out and wants to be laid up as well.
Both you guys just can't stay away from those good looking shielas in hospital:q:D
Hope you have some mates that will smuggle in some beers for ya':2tsup:...and "get well quick, guys"!!
Appreciate your kind words folks.
Vern, I was trundling down the road slowly, maybe 40 kph, as it was narrow and winding. There's no scuffing on the leather pants and little on the jacket. A hunch is that after the knock I was able to stop the bike but then fainted and fell over.
Wood borer, after this experience I look forward to calling in and taking in the fresh air.
Anyway, it could've been a lot worse. A guy my age was killed nearby the day before. The ambos attending that one and said the oncoming car was on the wrong side of the road and cleaned him up.
Since returning to riding a few years ago I've done over a 100,000 km of hard riding with a few minor offs. This one is unsettling though as I don't know who or what was accountable, and esp for the nauseatingly surreal experience of spending a wakeful night after surgery with a dead limb, fearing that nerve damage was done. The docs hadn't told me that this was normal with the spinal block they used; and the nurses regularly kept the fear alive by asking whether the fingers had feeling or could be moved.
So it's a time for re-evaluating. The existing hand problem was caused by an earlier off, and doubtless in time this one will produce arthritis in the wrist. I'm not sure how many more bills of that kind I want to pay.
Takes a long time to heal properly, I had a broken wrist a couple of years ago and I know how painful the recovery is. Not a nice expeerience but could have been much worse. Hope you recover quicker than I did.
Ern, I know we've spoken since your "off" but I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you don't have to sell the Jova as a consequence. Is the trip to the land of the rising sun still on?
