How to set out internal walls?

This is something I've been wondering about for a while. Which is the best method to set out internal walls?

A: Erect your external walls, straighten them using the gauge block method, make the internal wall then position it off the external wall using a roofing square in the corner. I have been taught this method. Just wondering though, if the roofing square is touching one of the external wall's studs that is proud say 5mm from the where it should be, this will effect the positioning of the internal wall right?

B: Reset up the original string lines (set out), then use pythagoras to obtain a right angle for the internal wall and draw/snap a chalk line onto the ground where it should be?

C: Another method?
