corner crimper

A while ago I got a job lot of tools in a box at a garage sale. In it was a corner crimper and a malco punch lock, stud crimper ( http://www.malcoproducts.com/products/drywall/pl1.asp )
Are these sort of things still used? and can someone explain what the latter tool does and where it is used?
