Yo, dudes

Nice forum you got going here...me joined just before Xmas so thought it be time to say Hi.

Me a professional sawdust maker and part time luthier, living in the Mountains of British Columbia, just down from the bear cave were timber is just a chainsaw away.

Not gonna post no pics of me sawdust, since I think we all knows what it looks like...but I thought you would like to see some eye candy of me builds.

Welcome Padma, your photography is almost as good as your builds. What materials do you use and are the woods local?

Thanks Artme, yes Masoth, local woods mainly ...birch, cedar, douglas fir, and spruce....you know, case of beer, a few packs of smokes and a visit to me buddies at the saw mill.

For detailing, trim, banding, fret boards, head and tail stock, pick guards and heals, I use whatever happens to fall off the truck...mainly padauk but whatever me can get me hands on. You could say me a hands on kinda guy.

OK those musical thingies look reasonable enough. But that shrubbery plays havoc with wood. :D.

To be serious, looks like you do a fair bit of resawing. Bandsaw? If so there would be some here who would be interested in your technique.

Shrubbery eh? ... ummm I believe boxwood is a type of shrubbery is it not?:o

Resawing, who me?...well is like this...a few of them musical thingies had roots on them and were stuck in the ground before being liberated with a chainsaw, bucked up into rounds, split and frowed or ripped into planks, and air dried.

Band saw, chain saw, table saw, hand, hack or skill saw, me just use whatever works...you know...what ever gets the pig clean.

Ever notice how each saw makes its own unique type of sawdust.:no: Yes it true.
