New Blackbutt deck - Do I need to wash it?

Hi All,

Building my new Blackbutt deck, which is using re-milled Blackbutt. Before I put an oil on it, do I need to wash it? Most companies like FW and Sikkens recommend washing the deck before oiling.

Is it required on new timber?
