"Ceiling" under balcony

Hi, We are considering having a narrow balcony built at the front of our house. It would be 5 meters long by 1.5 meters wide and would _not_ have a roof. Our entrance is under this deck, and as it is quite low (2.15 meters) I am not keen on walking under exposed bearers / joists as it looks untidy. I have seen on some houses that the underside of the deck is finished with a ceiling, probably made out of some sort of cement sheeting. Some questions: 1. How can this type of...
