Claw foot bath/shower feasable?

Hi all, I am wanting to put in a nice claw foot bath with the nice old style shower head hanging over it but also want to avoid using those ugly surrounding shower rails/curtains. My question is, if i do a very thorough job waterproofing, do you reckon i will get away with it or am i just asking for trouble? Has anyone tried it or even seen it work? Thanks for reading Glenno
