Tiling to outer edge???

I know a picture is worth a thousand words, so I might have to post up a photo shortly, but for now I'll try and describe it.

I have a front porch that I'm tiling and am trying to think of a neat way to finish of the outside edge level with the side of the house. The front edge is OK as 2/3's of it is garden bed and the other 1/3 has a "tread-step" tile with a bullnose finish and the entire front edge is a full tile anyway. However, this outside edge will have a cut tile and I don't want this raw edge showing. My current thinking is an angle aluminium strip, say 50 x 10mm glued to the slab with the 10mm edge overlapping the tile. I could then do the same to finish the garden bed edge too...

Any other thoughts?
