If all you Doomsdayers had been listening to the news you'd know that today they've merely turned on the LHC..no experiments have been carried out yet. They've powered up the magnets and the cooling system thats all.

The LHC is operated by CERN.....

Most of you probably dont realise that if it hadnt been for the white coated mad scientists at CERN you wouldnt be chatting away on this forum. CERN scientists (Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau) were behind the development of the World Wide Web.

I thought they'd actually turned it on yesterday & were carrying out the 1st experiment today. I may be wrong, though, I was once before.

Dunno......the thing is on and the world is still here so all the conspiracy theorist doomsdayers have some serious egg on their faces.

It's been turned on-off-on-off for a while - today is just hoo-haa day for the media. They haven't gone WOT though, and don't plan do so for a while - they won't be telling us when they do either.
