In the next few months I'm leaving the Scout Camp, but will need something to occupy myself.
Making wood stuff to sit on shelves or to throw out isn't stimulating.
7 day shopping stuffed the markets so making stuff for markets seems out.
Toying with the idea of a combination of Studio/Gallery and woodie classes.
It's not about money but if an opportunity occurs...
Anyone care to suggest concepts etc

Workshop Technician Needed
<HR style="COLOR: #663333" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I need a workshop technician to maintain and service a Design and Technology Centre in a Perth private high school.
We have up to date workshop machinery in both woodwork and metalwork and require someone to maintain these machines as well as do some prep work for teachers, ordering and odd jobs.
A trade background, an ability to work with teenagers (great fun!!!) and even an ability to do some teaching would be great.

A great way to get access to a fully equiped workshop for your own projects as well.

So I suppose even the family could come as tourists while the woodie is making sawdust. Even Mt Gambier is a comfortable day trip from here.
You may be able to attract some turning teachers by offering free accommodation for the turner and partner for the weekend plus a bit of the takings. You could also look at getting a gubbermint grant, if they give $100k to someone to make a girls surfboard, then....:shrug:Quote:

Just had another thought, "Kids with cancer" have some retreats that families can go to for rest and relaxation. Probably not lucrative but im sure the appreciation would be there. Teach them something and your website shows plenty of "attractions" close by.
Dont know how you contact them or anything but something else to consider.

IMHO being 2 1/2 hours from Melbourne is an advantage. I'd be unlikely to require accommodation if you were half an hour away. I'd also like the idea of getting away from Melbourne to do something like this.Quote:
