Guttering question

Our 30 years plus guttering is starting to sag in places and when full of water pulls off the internal brackets and causes waterfalls in a downpour. The fact that the braces to the vent pipe for the toilet are also fastened at the problem point probably helps the problem.The gutter is the all in one facia board type ie there is no facia board with the gutter itself sealing the eave. So if we remove it we will have to install a facia board and plumbers just shake their heads and don't want to know about it. The gutter itself is in reasonably good condition material wise just twisted in a couple of places and does not drain effectively particulary when it keeps popping off the brackets. I am told the gutter itself and the brackets are no longer available - I'm open to suggestions as to what to do David L

Fascia gutter is still available from Ace Gutters. It is probably the same profile as they used to sell years ago, it is still called Nu-line. check out their website to see if it is the same as what you have. http://www.acegutters.com.au/

I think it more of a case of them not wanting to know about it rather than not knowing. It has been around for over 40 years so they all know about it.

I have seen and heard of some disastrous war stories about Ace Gutter. All plumbers and roof fixers hate it with a passion. It is a good gutter when first installed but a major problem when it has to be renewed or repaired.

Well I've solved my problem (in the short term at least - wait and see what happens in the next down pour).

I got up on the roof and had a good look at the problem in the cold hard light of day rather than at night in a storm getting soaking wet :doh:

The collar holding the braces for the stink pipe had slid down the pipe about 5-6 inches and therefore transfered downward pressure onto the gutter - hence it didn't like staying on the brackets. Once back in place the gutter lined up nice and fitted back on the brackets - bit of crimping with the multi grips and they won't pop out in a hurry - also found 3-4 other detached brackets which responded to the multi grips as well and now the gutter is all straight and true :U

Now to clean out the rubbish and fit some sort of gutter guard :C

Cheap and easy, just like me!
