Deck spacing

Deck spacing

I know you use a nail gap between boards, but has anyone butted them hard up against each other, I did a deck about 6 months ago with pine and noticed the nail gap seems alot bigger now!

Has anyone used anything else as spacers?

G'day. Fibro sheet is used around here to space decking.
