Re-polishing a cabinet. FINAL!
Geez if it hasn't been 40+ in the shade up here the last few days. I hope all of you had a cooler weekend! Oh no I ain't whinging about the temps, it the damn humidity we get with it! http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/mad.gif
I havn't shown you a few steps, but all I have done since Part 5 was basically the same as I did in Part 5 anyway. Two more coats latter, basically is where we take off today.
I tried to get a pic to show you the finish I got. But it didn't turn out too well (not many pics did today actually) But I think you'll get the idea.

Now its time to get that plastic cover sheet off and start putting the thing back together.

Yep even us 'tradesmen' make the odd stuff-up! Damn masking tape! So looks like yet another repair on this thing.

Its a pretty easy process to repair it though. More of that nasty masking tape to hold the veneer back in place. While the cabinet is lying down I can give it a good once over inside where I havn't re-finished. OH! http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/eek.gif what do we have here? Looks like a tub of someones special traditional wax!! http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/wink.gif Yes I am using some of U-beauts Traditional wax.... Theres a plug for ya Neil. http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/biggrin.gif

Now is also a perfect time to get them feet that I kept forgetting about, screwed back in place. Bad pic here sorry..
http://members.dingoblue.net.au/~wat...ing%20feet.JPG
Now its back on its feet I can finally get that shelf fitted.
http://members.dingoblue.net.au/~wat...ng%20shelf.JPG
You will notice that the back has been left unstained. Yeah yeah its something else I overlooked because I wasn't re-finishing the inside. So the back had to come off and a quick stain etc & we are back on track. Glad I screwed the back in place even more now!
Anyway I never got a pic of that. So now I can screw the doors hinges, handles, catches etc back on

And finally with all the ups & downs I have had - its FINISHED!

And for comparison's sake - heres the first pic again.

So - whaddya reakon?
I actually started another small job today that I might put on here similar to what I have done here for the radiogram. But the camera for some reason corrupted the before picture. But luckily I also took the same pic with my trusty old 35mm, so if it might be a while before I get it up on here. Thats if your interested!!
Cheers!
