Gidday, I want to remove some Boral roof tiles to get access to retro fit TV & data cableing. I've always had metal roofs before so I have no idea how roof tiles are attached or how best to remove them safely. Anyone got any hints or instructions

Ceramic roof tiles are held down in two ways (at the same time), firstly there is nails in the top of them that hold them onto the wood frame in the roof. Depending on how good the roofer was that installed them there can be a nail in everyone, every third one or even every tenth one, if you get my drift.
The tiles also lock each other in both to the side and the higher tile sitting over the lower tile. To take them out you need to pull up from the bottom and twist them in a fashion whilst trying to hold the higher tile off. A little hard to describe.
If its got a nail in it too it will be a bit harder still.

Roof tiles - more often than not you can lift the bottom edge slightly & push them straight up the slope, under the tile above.
As damien sez, they are often not nailed or wired on.
