Silly me a few months back fertilzed the lawn and forgot to sweep off excess fertilizer from the driveway.
The driveway is a creamy colour and the nitrogen I presume it is has left ugly dark brown stains on the drive.
Any suggestions on how to remove the stains?

The brown stains would be from the iron in the fert not nitrogen. Sorry I have no suggestions as to how to remove it. It will fade eventually.
Yes I think you are correct, must be iron :-)
Whilst we are on this topic I spilled a lot of oil on the driveway today as well.
I guess just try degreaser?
Anyone else know of a decent product to remove oil stains?
Kitty litter.
Someone in another thread suggested Kitty litter soaked in kero or turps then let it dry out.
Try Bore Rust & Tannin Remover by Bondall on the iron stains.
Maybe also worth trying Napisan or another oxygen bleach if you have it.
I've been told that sprinkling cement dust over the oil stains and leaving it for a few hours will help remove the oil stains, don't know if it works or not though.
This does work, but must be done pretty much within the first few hours whilst the oil is still fresh. I taught this trick to me dad and I always know when he has visitors :; as his driveway is a brown coloured asphalt and the cement dust stands out like a sore thumb but the oil is normally gone the next time I visit :2tsup:Quote:
