Too much on google, but simplish question.
If I get hold of a few more cameras and place them strategically around my house (and sensor lights) is there a way I can record from all of them at the same time to a single computer?

:D why forgetting what you have done during the day
or is this to keep an eye on swmbo and make sure she isn't relaxing to often
No, to catch the mongrel bastard that slashed two tyres on gingerchicks car and one on my motorbike. Then a few weeks later came over while we were out and cut the cable for the sensor light, and just last night we were called by friends up the road and they said they saw someone in front of our house hiding behind trees.
I'm not going to jeopardise my chances of getting the pr!ck sent to jail for his cowardly attack on me and my house in april by breaking him in half. (Though I'm starting to get a bit angry with it. My anger management issue is that I dont get angry)
:oo::o:~
Baseball bat time
auto raise nail machanisim in the grass straight through footwear or auto firing nail gun opperated by lazer sensors ok bit obvious I guess
it can be done Tricky Dicky has all you need sensors
as long as computer can handle it you should be right as long as he doesn't cut your power
Move out of the lousy neighbourhood might be a good idea.....
Moving out would take months though. Lest we sell at a loss.
I'll head down to tricky dicky at lunch time and have a squizz
have a look on ebay for security camera, you'll find a few systems that handle a few cameras at once.
also stick a few dummy cameras up in more obvious locations than your real cameras.
oficeworks cary a fair stock, if there is one in Mackay
to record several cameras at once to one storage device you need what is called a multiplexer or quad proccesor (if you only want 4 camera input)
here is an example off ebay

edit: Or if you've got a spare couple of hundred grand, just a machine gun sentry robot :oo: Although there may be some legal implications with that one :D
Pretty sure we used to install the Axis ones...quite good, they can be set to start recording when the detect motion - and they are very good at it. They record to a computer, or can be set to record to an offsite location. Only issue is ensuring they have power. Great product.
Jaycar also sell the various trick boxes - they are a good bit more savvy than Dick's mob, specially since Dick left.
They have multiplexers that record to PC or to their own hard drive or VCR-type tape. IR, motion detection, lipstick cameras, fake cameras..........
Std PC camera card has 4 inputs
Program can handle 4 cards.
That equals 16 cameras each set to motion detection on selected areas.
If your computer can have 4 cards and handle the processing.
Thanks all,:2tsup:
Well I bought that multiplexer from ebay. Now to record (it doesn't have internal memory) I was thinking of getting a dvd recorder. That should work, shouldn't it?
