Noisy internal timber stairs

How do I stop internal stairs frim screetching every time we walk on them?

If you can get access to beneath the stairs, you should find the treads are tightened in place with wedges. These may have come loose over time (shrinkage, vibration??). Have a look and tighten of replace them as required. You may need to open the wall to get access, but usually there is a cupboard or some such, under the stairs.
