Fire!!!

FIRE!!!! :o
Freakin hell, thats all I needed..........:C

I have been for the last 3 days burning old timber at the shop that is unsellable to ready for the sale in 2 weeks time.

Today I had a small fire going, well under control, or so I thought.
I popped into the shop for lunch, I was gone for maybe 5 minutes.......

Then I heard the neighbour yelling for me.....:o

Run outside to see a small shed alight..

Run back in and dial 000.

The fireies were here in 3-4 minutes, but it felt like a week.

The neighbour didnt call them strangely enough. We share fences, or used to.

Anyway nothing major lost.
And most importantly, no one was hurt.

I shall take some beer down to the Mernda fireies next week.

That chap who waters your skip might also have been pleased to come round and give a hand if you had telephoned him.

whew that is scary glad you are ok. One way to clean up

I cant believe the speed at which the fire took control. :o

It crept along dry grass to get to the shed, I had been swatting out small grass fires as they developed, the grass was no taller than 70mm.

The fire was almost out too, :( or so I thought.

Yep I know we lost our house to fire 2 years ago and all hubby had done was go and change channels on TV and came back to the kitchen alight beyond control so I know just how quick a fire gets hold

No fires do not care what is in the way as it starts to take hold. November last year a clown in our street poured 20l of petrol into the grass behind our houses and set it alight. firies got there and managed to get it under control thankfuly it was a still night without any wind. We were woken by the neighbours across the street so I grabbed the camera and got a couple of shots off.
