For those who are interested
OK so I am glad to be back..
Grunt, I have achieved my restricted "ultralight" licence, and before anyone jumps to the wrong conclusion about what an ultralight is look here:
Aussie built aircraft
The aeroplane on the front page (J160) is similar to the model I have been learning in.
Seats 2 peolpe, has a range of 1030nm, (nautical miles for those un initiated) at an average speed of 100 knots ( about 180 km's per hour)
To date I have 61 flying hours 40 of those were with the instructor.
at present I am finishing up my navigational exercises.
In the week or two I have to do a 4 hour nav flight around the outskirts of melbourne and back across Port Phillip Heads and home, the after that is my nav assessment!:C
In August I am off to Bundaberg, mainly to inspect the factory and also to visit the rum place.
A new J160 is around $75,000 ( doesn't hurt if you say it real quick)
IF your are still interested Gumby, do a conversion to ultralights, the cost is less than your PPL, and you can go nearly everywhere a GA pilot can go.
