Hi,
Finaly getting the renos done.
I am looking at light switches/power point plates. So far all I can find are standard HPM and CLIPSAL. Also some C-BUS type switches, but I want to avoid C-BUS. Anybody have any other suggestions

There used to be place in Redfern that sold period fittings. I cant remember exactly where it was but I know it had some great gear.

I think Clipsal sell the old fashon round brass type & if you make the dark stained timber plates to go behind them they come up a treat
Here are a couple I have done , cedar stained with wallyl rosewood and warlnut stain , the second had less warlnut and I stick with this colour now :U
Have you tried looking on the Clipsal website.
Clipsal also have the Prestige 2000 (P200) range & the Matisse (M2000) range.
there is an hpm knock-off called SPM, that is about half the price of the hpm gear. Pretty good quality also.
cheers

Thanks for the responses so far.
Just one thing, I'd like to keep it modern looking. I'm not really into the heritage fittings.
Any other suggestions are aprecciated.
Cheers
Did you look at the Clipsal web site?
Look at this page.

Hi Cliff,
I had seen those HPM bits before, but not all on one page. Thanks for that.
I guess I was looking for something a bit different or modern than the usual HPM or CLIPSAL stuff. Most stuff that I have seen that fits this category is C-BUS stuff but I don't thionk the investment in the C-BUS gear is worth it for my current home/reno.
Thanks again for the link.
Cheers
The web site doesn't show the other colours.
Go into an electrical wholesaler & ask for a brochure.
We are using the C2000 fittings in black, I'll get a picture or 2 for you.
Bugger, I left my camera in my wife's car & she has gone to work.... later maybe.
Hi Seth
As a Clipsal Rep I probably shouldnt direct you to an opposition product but I think the style your looking for is Modena by PDL

:o Had to replace about 5 of these in one building. The switches on the powerpoints got stuck and no longer worked. I think hpm are having some legal issues with this company at the moment also.Quote:

I'm no help to seth since he doesn't want to go heritage style, but I just thought that I'd mention that I can't find anything from clipsal in the way of the really traditional pull switches. Very pricey to get them from England :oo:. A great idea if you couldn't be bothered chasing down a wall to put in a light switch ;) , and very safe to use in a wet and steamy bathroom.

No mate Clipsal do not make any pull chord switches but our opposition HPM do all though i dont think they come in heritage style.Quote:
